A gesture recognition system recognises phsyical gestures, usually with the arm, fingsre or a stylus whuch are then used to trigger actions or some other form of input to a computer. Many smartphone applications use simple gestures such as swiping to switch pages or squeezing/stretching with two fingers to resize a picture. It is often easier to perform {handwriting recognition}} when the path of a stylus is recorded rather than just the final image.
